The Covid Shuffle

This project grew out of the very challenging times many faced during the height of the Covid-19 lockdowns. Many friends and family struggled with the isolation, all of the uncertainty and the incredible losses. Each week I tried to share a little bit of joy through my photography and prose. From that sharing, this little bit of fun was born.
So you gotta keep your distance
To keep safety in its place
You can’t visit friends & family
You have to be in you own space
You can only go out walking
If you go out on your own
You can not have a party
In anybody's home
And when you’re feeling down
and feeling all alone
All because you are stuck
Unable to leave your home
Remember.....
You can dance.....
You can do the Covid shuffle.....you can dance
So when you start to doubt
You can make it on your own
The walls are crowding in
You can’t reach me on the phone
You are convinced that you can not possibly
Make another day
Remember you do have a simple,
but very effective way
You can just turn up the music
And jump down on the floor
Throw back your head,
Scream and yell for more
Cause.....
you can dance.....
you can do the Covid shuffle.....you can dance
